Restaurant chain to become first-ever Official Burger of the 26.2-mile race

New York, October 7, 2024 — New York Road Runners (NYRR), the nonprofit that produces the TCS New York City Marathon and 60 adult and youth races annually, and Shake Shack, the burger chain with more than 20 locations across the five boroughs, today announced a new partnership for the TCS New York City Marathon. As part of the two-year partnership, Shake Shack will become the first-ever Official Burger of the TCS New York City Marathon, also known as the BEST DAY in New York City.

The TCS New York City Marathon is one of the most inclusive and accessible sporting events in the world, with the first finisher and final finisher running the same course on the same day. More than 50,000 runners from all 50 states and over 150 countries are expected at this year’s race. A brand that started in the heart of New York City, Shake Shack will refuel and recharge the runners and spectators of the TCS New York City Marathon, to make every step of the race – and every bite afterward – worth it.

At the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon, Shake Shack will have brand activations, including a “Bibs for Burgers” post-race promotion for runners to get a free ShackBurger at all New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut Shake Shack locations, a cheer zone in Williamsburg, and fun giveaways at select NYC Shacks including the 1700 Broadway location.

The 2024 TCS New York City Marathon will take place Sunday, November 3, drawing more than 50,000 runners from around the world to the iconic five-borough course.
