Position Overview:
The GOAL Foundation seeks a dynamic, experienced, and community-minded Event Operations Manager. The Event Operations Manager will work closely with the Director of Operations to oversee the Operations/Logistics and Festival Management for the organization’s events, including, but not limited to the Ogden Marathon, Winter Running Series, and Northern Utah Trailfest. This individual will be expected to perform all operational functions inherent to event production and management. This is a full-time position for in-house employment at our office located at 2440 Washington Blvd. in Ogden, Utah. Normal hours are 9:00am-5:00pm Monday thru Friday. During events, working outside of normal office hours is required with Event Accrued Flex Time provided.
Position Responsibilities
For races and athletic events outside of the Ogden Marathon, the Event Operations Manager will execute race production operations as assigned by the Director of Operations, including, but not limited to the following:
● Act as lead ops planner and Race Director for non-Ogden Marathon GOAL athletic events (Winter Running Series, Northern Utah Trailfest, ETC.)
● Ensure compliance with permitting, insurance, legal, health, and safety obligations at events.
● Plan, design, and produce events on time and within budget.
● Coordinate supplies, timing, course marking, photographers, and other event logistics.
● Activate integration of sponsors and partners onsite at events
● Volunteer needs buildout and assessment
● Volunteer Management of Event Leads
● GOAL event inventory management and load out
● Transportation logistics
● Bid and secure operational vendors
● Conduct pre- and post-event evaluations and report on outcomes
Work in tandem with the Director of Operations to execute all Ogden Marathon (OM) race production operations. Event Operations Manager responsibilities concerning the Ogden Marathon include, but are not limited to:
● OM Expo planning, management, and execution
● OM Finish Line Festival planning, management, and execution
● OM Volunteer needs assessment and recruitment management
● OM Water Station management
● Event Team Lead acquisition and management
● Venue set up and take down including but not limited to light, sound, portable toilets, fencing, and barricades
● Event vehicle and equipment rental and coordination
Qualifications and necessary skills:
● Minimum 2-3 years event management experience preferred
● Experience and demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and project management tools like Asana.
● Budget management experience.
● Communication: Excellent, proven interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Must be able to courteously and efficiently deal with event participants, public safety officials, municipal partners, business relations, volunteers, and employees.
● Proven ability to work with little to no supervision and be able to follow directions.
● Proven leadership experience of multidisciplinary teams under stressful environments.
● Proactively identify, address, and resolve potential issues that could impact event success, while troubleshooting and managing emerging challenges in real-time on event day.
● Availability on nights and weekends during the event season and reliable personal transportation to the office and event/meeting sites.
● Ability to manage multiple projects with varying deadlines concurrently.
● Analytical and methodical problem solver.
● Attention to detail.
● Experience working/volunteering and attending community events.
● Ability to stand, sit, and use a computer for long periods of time. Must be able to consistently lift boxes and equipment up to 50 lbs.

Salary/Benefits:
