Charge Running is Celebrating Girls On The Run in June for Charge For A Cause Initiative

 

Chicago, IL - Charge is Celebrating Girls On The Run!

In the month of June, Charge Running is celebrating Girls On The Run as part of their Charge For A Cause initiative.  All proceeds go to support Girls on the Run Southeastern, CT. The LIVE virtual 5K event will take place this Saturday, June 12th at 11 AM EST on the Charge Running app and features content provided by Kathrine Switzer, the first woman to officially run the Boston Marathon.

"We are so excited for our first ever Girls on the Run Virtual 5K. Though the last year has been challenging, and required constant creativity and flexibility, we continue to stay centered in our mission of inspiring all girls to be joyful, healthy and confident,"  says Kate McDonald, Executive Director of Girls on the Run Southeastern CT.  "Now more than ever, we remain committed to focusing on connectedness and ensuring the social, emotional and mental health of our girls."

Runners and walkers can register at https://www.raceplanner.com/register/index/Girls-on-the-Run-SECT-Virtual-5K. If you can't participate live, the race can be accessed on demand on the Charge Running app.

All proceeds go to support programming for Girls on the Run Southeastern CT.

Charge For a Cause

Charge For a Cause is a program which will help nonprofits grow through hosting races on the Charge platform. Charge Running is currently accepting applications from 501c3 organizations who are interested in hosting a LIVE virtual race using our state of the art technology.  

In addition to hosting live virtual racing, event directors and coordinators can also access live leaderboards, an active live chat, real-time playlists, race photos, printable race bibs, and more to round out the complete race weekend experience.

Runners simply log into the app via their mobile device to participate from anywhere around the world. Runners can choose to participate live or participate later via Charge’s “on-demand run” feature. During the event, runners are motivated by music and a live trainer. When participants complete the event, they will receive instant personalized race results which includes overall place and paces. Real-time feedback and group interaction is also available to add to the excitement.
