Spartan and GoFundraise Partner to Transform Lives Through New Virtual “Fit for a Cause” Charity Program
BOSTON, Mass. (May 23, 2020) - Leading extreme wellness and endurance brand Spartan has partnered with GoFundraise to create “Fit for a Cause,” a 30 day virtual fitness challenge program designed to encourage Spartan participants around the world to get fit from home and raise funds for non-profit organizations in keeping with the brand’s spirit of community and supporting others. The program also aids in Spartan’s mission of transforming lives through its virtual 30 day fit challenge and line-up of health and fitness events and platforms.
“Spartan is dedicated to transforming 100 million lives, and we’re excited to enlist GoFundraise to join our mission,” said Spartan Founder and CEO Joe De Sena. “The Spartan community is passionate about helping others both on and off the course. Race for a Cause will empower organizations who support very worthy causes to generate the much-needed funds and attention to further their missions.”
In supporting Fit for a Cause, Spartan will provide a 30 day fitness challenge and thousands of complimentary race registrations for its Spartan obstacle course race (OCR) events across the country to 501(C)3 organizations, who will in turn use the race entries as a means to raise funds. With retail race prices averaging $100 per entry, the much-deserving organizations have an opportunity to raise significant funds. The non-profit organizations benefiting from the program are carefully vetted and selected by Spartan. Organizations already committed to the program include the American Cancer Society, Keep A Child Alive, the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation and Hope for the Warriors.
