Denver's Colfax Marathon is Cancelled

As a non-profit supporting hundreds of other non-profits, we understand the uncertain times we are in and how time can feel like it's moving at such a slow pace.

We have officially cancelled our race for the weekend of May 16-17. The decision to have our event this fall or wait until 2021 is driven by the City of Denver. Once the mass gathering rules are outlined, the City will be setting a process and timeline for the 100+ impacted special events.

We are listening to our state and local leadership to give us specific direction for fall of 2020. As you are aware, thousands of large events of all types nationwide are on hold, and those that are scheduled for the summer and fall may or may not happen. Just like you, we are hopeful that the aggressive actions of sheltering in place and social distancing will allow us all to return to a "new normal".

Upon determining if we can have a 2020 race weekend or will be waiting until May 2021, we will communicate to individual runners and team captains at least three options. Our 15th Anniversary celebration will happen, whether it is in 2020 or needs to wait until 2021.

As we go out on our personal runs, we are proud that runners are running safe, and we smile as we see Colfax shirts and buffs. We know that our state has given runners more freedom than some and are glad Coloradoans have running as a great outlet at this time.

We really appreciate your patience and understanding during this difficult time for all. Our homepage will have the most recent update on information regarding our event.
