An Update from RaceSafe for the Running USA Community

Greetings Running USA!

We hope you are well in these uncertain and challenging times of coronavirus (COVID-19).  We hope that your families, colleagues, and friends are safe. As a sports medicine doctor and race medical director, I created RaceSafe, our platform for safety and care of athletes at sports events.

Even before the current situation, RaceSafe aims to promote best practices for care of athletes at sports events. When your event implements RaceSafe, you are demonstrating a commitment to the safety of participants. We’re proud to work with races who are very involved with Running USA, like Twin Cities in Motion, Cowtown, and Flying Pig just to name a few.

Events that use RaceSafe allow:

  • Real-Time Tracking of all medical incidents including those reported by police, course marshals, bystanders or others.
  • Participants to securely share health symptoms directly with the medical team in 5 minutes or less.
  • Online Training of the medical team’s protocols to manage various problems.

RaceSafe’s secure medical sharing digitizes the back of the bib and you will earn the participant’s confidence by showing safety is a priority. With RaceSafe we get 70% email opening rates and 15% participation with each email you send, which is much higher than the 1% of those who fill out the back of the bib.

Please let us know if you’re interested to learn how to use RaceSafe for your event, reach us at support@iracesafe.com. We appreciate our partner events who proactively choose to do the right thing for their sport and the community at large.

Wishing you all good health,
