Big Sur International Marathon Launches Ambassador Program for 2020 Race

Applications are now being accepted for the organization’s first class of brand ambassadors

CARMEL, CA. – The Big Sur Marathon Foundation is launching their first-ever Ambassador Program for the bucket-list Big Sur International Marathon.  The organization is seeking enthusiastic runners who are familiar with or excited about promoting the 2020 Big Sur Marathon and who identify with their nonprofit mission to “create beautiful running events that promote health and benefit our community.” Applications are being accepted now through July 22nd.

Selected ambassadors will help cultivate community around the Big Sur Marathon brand through a number of efforts, including utilizing social media and hosting community events. As a sell-out race, the Big Sur Marathon is seeking individuals to perpetuate a positive, inclusive, inspiring culture and help grow the organization’s reach.

“We’re ecstatic to announce the advent of this new program as a way to cultivate a sense of community among our growing participant base around the globe,” said Hillary Fujii, Marketing and Communications Manager for the Big Sur Marathon Foundation. “The creation of an Ambassador Program has been on our radar for some time now and we’re excited to see it come to life.”

Individuals with strong demonstrable skills in one or more of the following areas are encouraged to apply: social media/blogging, content creation (video/photo), community outreach, group recruitment, involvement in running clubs or other health-focused social groups. All applicants must be able to commit to active participation from August 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020 and be available to attend the 2020 Big Sur International Marathon on April 26, 2020.

Big Sur Marathon Ambassadors will receive a number of year-round benefits, including:

·      Free entry into the 2020 Big Sur Marathon on April 26th

·      Access to the catered Big Sur VIP tent at the finish line

·      Invitation to the Friday night kick-off reception

·      One ticket to the pre-race Pasta Dinner on Saturday evening

·      BSIM swag mailed periodically during their term

·      Sponsor gifts

·      Social media exposure on BSIM channels

Ambassadors will not receive a discount code to share with others based on the quick sell-out nature of the Big Sur Marathon. Instead, ambassador performance will be evaluated based on visibility in their communities, both digital and physical, as well as quality of work and time committed.

To apply, visit the “Ambassador Program” tab on bigsurmarathon.org and fill out the 2020 Big Sur Marathon Ambassador Application by July 22nd. Ambassadors will be selected and notified via email on July 26th if accepted.
