What’s your HAL? Running USA 2020 Attendees Will Get Inspired While Sharing HAL (Healthy Active Living) Goals
Colorado-based HAL Sports returns as sponsor of the running industry’s biggest and best education and networking conference
(August 13, 2019) – If you don’t know HAL, you are sure to meet him in Las Vegas at the 2020 Running USA Industry Conference. Just don’t be surprised when he turns out to be your new invisible friend.
The mascot of HAL Sports, HAL (stands for Healthy Active Living) will be on full display at the event as part of an interactive social media sponsorship. Just look for the HAL Wall.
Attendees at the event can share their HAL on the wall and post a photo on social media with the hashtags #HALSports and #RUSA20 to be entered into a prize giveaway.
“HAL is such a fun guy, and he embodies the unique fun that accompanies any endurance event HAL Sports takes on. That extends to our awesome industry that we love to support,” said Lonnie Somers, co-owner of HAL Sports and a member of the Running USA Board of Directors. “This is our second year sponsoring a small piece of the industry’s most epic get together.”
Colorado-based HAL Sports is co-owned by Lonnie and Michelle Somers, who became active in the running industry 15 years ago in their efforts to raise funds for the Fetal Health Foundation, a non-profit the couple founded after their twin daughters needed emergency in-utero surgery. Rebranded HAL Sports in 2018, the Somers’ celebrated their 10 year anniversary as race production professionals in 2019.
“We’re thankful to Running USA members like HAL Sports who help make our industry conference such a huge success each year,” said Christine Bowen, vice president of programming, partnerships and operations for Running USA. “We know one reason people love our event is because it sends them home inspired both personally and professionally, and getting to know HAL is an awesome way to do that!”
