Running USA 2020 Hall of Champions Class is Open for Nomination

Honorees will be feted at the 2020 Industry Conference in Las Vegas, Feb. 9-11, 2020

(Oct. 24, 2019) – Running USA is pleased to announce that nominations are now being accepted for the 2020 Hall of Champions class.

The selected nominees will join dozens of other running industry leaders in the Running USA Hall of Champions. Selections will be announced at the largest running industry conference in the world. This year’s conference is set for Feb. 9-11, 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Hall of Champions, a Running USA institution that will be welcoming its 17th inductee class, recognizes the leaders who have made the sport and business of road running the industry it is today.

“We encourage everyone to make a nomination for the 2020 Hall of Champions class. This is an opportunity to recognize the leaders and changemakers who have grown and positively influenced the sport of road running over the years,” said Rich Harshbarger, Running USA CEO.

Iris Simpson Bush, a past president of the Running USA Board of Directors who was named to the Hall of Champions in 2018, said this of the honor:

As one of the founders of the Flying Pig Marathon, Running USA and my contemporaries in this business were and have continued to be a lifeline. The guidance and assistance that has always been readily and respectfully available was invaluable. To have been able to learn, grow and flourish in this industry--in great measure--because of the knowledge and assistance of others, and then to have been acknowledged as a leader and contributor myself, is gratifying and humbling.  To have been named to the Hall of Champions, especially with the distinguished names on that list, is an honor that I will cherish always.”

Nominations for two other conference awards are currently open. The Rising Star and Women’s Leadership Award nominations are also currently open and close Nov. 4. The Youth Award nomination period will open soon.

Nomination submissions for the Hall of Champions may be submitted until 5pm PST on Friday, Nov. 22.
