Statesman Cap10K Wins National BibRave 100 and Local Austin Fit Magazine Honors for 2018

Austin, TX (Dec. 3, 2018) The Statesman Capitol 10,000, the largest 10K in Texas, presented by Baylor Scott & White Health, has been named to The BibRave 100: A Definitive List of the Best Races in America and “Best Road Race” in Austin Fit Magazine’s annual “Best of” awards for 2018.

“Since 1978, the Statesman Cap10K has been a beloved part of the Austin landscape and culture. It has also extended its reach across the area, state and country, as reflected by these two awards. My intention for the 42nd race on April 7, 2019 is to continue to do what has made it so popular: deliver a fun, exceptionally well-executed race and post-race event,” said Jeff Simecek, Cap10K race director.

“All of the races listed on The BibRave 100 are shining examples of how to put on a great event, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the list,” said Tim Murphy, Co-Founder of BibRave. “Runners put a lot of time and research into planning their race calendars, and we hope The BibRave 100 is a helpful tool highlighting some truly wonderful races.”

The “Best of” awards from Austin Fit Magazine aim to reflect the continually evolving and thriving fitness scene in Austin. Each year, readers vote in a variety of fitness and healthy living categories.

New and returning Cap10K participants can register for the 2019 race at cap10K.com.
