Community Coordinator - Mascot Sports

We’re a young, fast growing company and you are passionate and excited to help grow our endurance community. This is an incredible opportunity to build our collection of events and brands from the start line; you’ll be the all-star liaison between Mascot and its growing athlete base, deploying the very best marketing, field outreach and social media management practices to relay our story to the world.

This role is social media-heavy; you should be just as comfortable workshopping copy as you are with planning a social media calendar or working together with influencers and local clubs. Your other responsibilities will be pretty varied; on any given day, you might be hyping up our events, attending a local running club event, or launching and staffing a promotional event. You’ll work closely with the Mascot team and have the opportunity to make an impact. Creativity is a must; you should have big ideas about what an ideal event and brand looks like, with the strategies to make it happen.

You’ll also play an integral role in gathering feedback on event experiences from our community, creating open conversations with them, and working with the Mascot team to make our events better. We’re looking for an outgoing, adventure seeker, who’s passionate about fitness, believes in building better event experiences and inspiring others through our endurance programs.

Overall, your responsibilities will include:

  • Be a positive, customer-centric voice of Mascot Sports when interacting with followers and the public.
  • Setting and implementing social media and communication campaigns to align with marketing strategies to build a community of running and fitness enthusiasts.
  • Providing engaging text, image and video content for social media accounts.
  • Responding to comments and community queries in a timely manner.
  • Draft and implement customer-facing emails through Mailchimp.
  • Proactively reach out to athletes to gather feedback and ensure an impeccable quality of service.
  • Organize and recruit local vendors to be at our packet pickup “pop-ups” & finish line festivals.
  • Attend promotional events, expos and partner events during the work week, nights and weekends.

You should have:

  • A desire for startups, to become the face of an event, and a little travel.
  • An energetic and outgoing attitude, with an analytical approach on the best ways to grow our brand.
  • 1+  years of experience in PR, marketing, social, or an equivalent public-facing position at a consumer/fitness/endurance-focused company.
  • Experience in managing high-profile social media accounts, from posting to tracking and monitoring engagement analytically.
  • Familiarity with enterprise email services and marketing automation tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication details.
